HTC Sensation, XE Ice Cream Sandwich Rolling Out Now UPDATE

UPDATE 30.03.12: In a recent blog posting, HTC has confirmed that it has started the Android 4.0 roll-out for its Sensation and Sensation XE: “Most European carriers will start rolling-out ICS for these devices this week. For carriers outside of Europe, we will be pushing updates over the next few weeks and will have specifics soon.

HTC Sensation owners will be happy to hear that they will have Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich any time now.  The updates have been seen rolling out now on the Sensation and XE models it is being reported.

HTC confirmed to Engadget that the update, which also brings HTC Sense 3.6, has appeared in Nordic countries, while Recombu notes that German site HTCinside.de has seen the update appearing on its Sensation XE.

If you phone has been branded by a network you will most probably have a while to wait yet as its usually unbranded phones that are first to receive the updates

You might want to do this over wifi as its apparently 297MB in size, not so good for those who have high data charges and no wifi.

HTC did say back in february that the updates were coming for the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE soon to be followed by the Sensation XL  HTC Desire HD, Incredible S,Desire S and Evo 3d which will receive the update “later this year”.

    What means “branded by network”?
When ICS will be available in Latvia on Sensation XE?
    Please someone answer me…

    • Branded by network means that the phone has logos and applications backgrounds and things added to the phone by the network. The software on it is a slight variation from that that would come with the phone direct from HTC. Sensation XE ICS is rolling out now accross europe. It still has not hit the UK yet either but keep checking over the next couple of weeks
